Why Take Gymnastics?

Some experts say that the greatest benefits of gymnastics training for children are physical: the amazing power, proprioception, kinesthetic awareness, agility and grace. Other experts say that the benefits are to the mind: the perseverance, discipline, the confidence, the attention to detail, the ability to focus. Which is right? Our experts know! The answer is, without a doubt, both. In fact, professional gymnastics training is a pre requisite for all children who want to learn how to become the best they can be in life. Sounds like gymnastics training is for all children of all ages! Our Instructors are USA Gymnastics and Safety Certified and specially selected and trained to safely bring out the best in each child by encouraging each child to exceed their perceived limitations.

What should my child wear?

Girls should wear a leotard or shorts and a tank top, tucked in and bare foot. Boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt tucked in and bare foot.  Hair should be pulled back for safety, long hair interferes with rolling, somersaulting and twisting skills. Please, no gum or jewelry in the gym.

FGA Program

FGA Recreational Gymnastics:

Our Recreational Gymnastics curriculum is based on USAG Jr. Olympic Program, as well as our 30 years’ experience of teaching gymnastics to children. The FGA Recreational curriculum is designed to provide a non-competitive, achievement-oriented program of life skills, conditioning and flexibility.

Your child will be introduced to learning and developing gymnastics skills using the uneven bars, vault, beam, floor, foam pit, trampoline and tumble track, in addition to the conditioning and flexibility that an aspiring gymnast would need. As part of the program, students have the opportunity to participate in our end of the year Expo program. This is designed to show off yours progressions and skills in which you have learned throughout the year.

The curriculum is carefully designed for exactly what children need most during these formative years. Gymnastics skills are used as tools to teach learning attitudes while skill mastery is a second goal. At FGA, we keep first things first…Children!  NOTHING IS AS IMPORTANT AS A CHILD’S SELF ESTEEM!!! Children gain a broader understanding of gymnastics basics, while continuing to build their coordination, agility, strength and most importantly, their confidence! We feel healthy learning attitudes is far more important than mastery of specific skills. At F.G.A we recognize each child’s talent and ability, we also understand that each child will progress and advance individually. It is our goal to help your child succeed, and most important…Have Fun!!
